<< Just another weekend. Nothing too exciting! >> Friday was rainy all day long, so no bonfire that night. I got a call from Matt who sounded so depressed that their sitter canceled on them due to an illness so they could not go out anyway. I told him that since it was raining, we weren't going to have a bonfire, so it's all fine. But what he didn't tell me was that Sam was sick anyway, so they couldn't go out anyway. So, I was a bit confused about why he was so upset about the sitter canceling. Sam was sick and not up to going out. So, whatever. Anyway, Dave and I made other plans. We decided to go out to the casino for dinner and then some slots. I actually came out ahead. About 30 bucks, so that's okay. I slept in until 6:30 the next morning!!! Dave kept telling me to sleep IN in the morning, until 8:00. Never could make that. 6:30 came, I looked at my phone for the time and started chuckling. By then, Dave was awake, too, so we got up and had coffee and gabbed. We did our stuff around our homes, getting ready for the Halloween bonfire. We got everything done, including me running to the store for last minute items, and Dave blowing some leaves away from the bonfire area, and a path between our homes. That's always nice. Then we decided to take a nap and we slept for THREE hours. We woke up at 5:00, realizing that the bonfire was to start in one hour, and I still had to run to the liquor store to get beer for the guys. So, I did that while Dave got the fire going and getting in the shower. April had invited a couple of that she knew threw another friend. She never thought that they would actually come since the mutual friend was not there. However, the woman called, Janelle, and asked directions to Dave's house. They arrived and I was so happy they came. They are very nice people and I think we will get along great. They just moved from the Twin Cities and don't know a lot of people. Dave invited them to come over to Doug and April's on Sunday to watch the Viking game and they accepted. Sam and the kids came over on Saturday night and I got my grandbaby fix!! She was only taking them to my house for trick or treating and no where else, so they stayed for quite some time and we had a nice visit. Alex was dressed as a dragon and Tanner was a frog. So cute!!!! I just put on my kitty ears and tail and added whiskers and called it good. I was running out of steam around 1:00 and finally said my goodnights to everyone. Apparently, the party closed down right after that. I didn't know. I was asleep. I actually slept in until 6:45 the next morning, however with the time change, it was ACTUALLY 7:45, so that was plenty of sleep. We got up, had coffee and then Dave went to help Doug take out the pontoon and the dock at his Birch Lake cabin. I got some stuff done around my house while he was gone. He eventually came back and I went back over there and we got ready to go to watch the game at Doug and April's place. Janelle and Dan came over and it was nice to get to know them better. The game was exciting, especially since the Vikings were playing the Packers and we won. We went back to Dave's right after the game and just hung around for a bit. The game was later in the day and with the time change it really seemed like the day was over. Dave mentioned going to the casino but I wasn't interested at all so we stayed home and watched TV. Then we actually went to bed at 8:30. It felt so much later!!! Slept until a little after 5:00 and got ready for work, had coffee with Dave and here I am. At work. And ready to go home already!!! LOL That's it. |
