<< Boring, boring, boring. >>

Another busy weekend.

Friday night, I didn't do anything, though. I pretty much just sat around the house and took care of a few odds and ends.

Saturday morning, I got up early, of course, and went tanning and then got myself some caffeine in the form of an Iced Coffee. I don't like getting them on weekends. The fun people aren't working and they don't make fun of my flags, my need for iced coffee, the Vikings, or anything that we have come to chat about over the past year or so.

Went back home and worked out. I needed to get rid of the calories I had just ingested.

Dave called just as I was getting out of the shower and said he just woke up and did I want coffee.

Great, more caffeine.!!!

So, yeah, I went to get more in my system.

We gabbed for a while, then we finished working on putting up the last gutter on my house.

then more stuff around the yard. Dave wanted to mow our lawns one last time, and who was I to say he couldn't mow my lawn for me? He only needed to do a bit by the front of the house since the rest has pretty much stopped growing.

While he did that, I took a nap. When I got up again, he was still putzing around, doing crap.

He finally got done, he took a shower (WHEW!!!) and then we went out for dinner at Famous Dave's. The food is so good there!!!

and I had plenty left over for lunch on Sunday.

Then we went back home, sat around a bit and doug and April came down to visit until nearly 10:00.

we were going to go to the Haunted Hayride, however it was raining and I didn't really want to get wet, so we skipped it. It's too bad since it really is a fun time!!!

But not in the rain. I'm too old to want to do stuff like that anymore!

I got up early with Dave the next morning because he had to get ready for his Canada trip for duck hunting.

I saw both Doug and Dave off that morning around 6:30 and then went back to my own home and got a LOT done yesterday. I cleaned out three pumpkins and separated the seeds for roasting. NUMMY! It was supposed to be FOUR pumpkins to carve, but one was rotten when I opened it, so that one is gone.

I carved ONE pumpkin and got one more ready to go. I can only do so much carving in one day. It hurts my wrist.

I also got all the apples peeled, cored, sliced and frozen in handy, dandy pie sized servings. I did leave seven for a pie I want to make this week.

I tried to catch up on my TV shows while I was working, but that didn't turn out so hot.

I also fixed a broken drawer on my platform bed.

I also worked on my Swedish Weaving project while watching the Vikings lose their first game this year. It was sad. The guys were calling me about the game since where they were they had NO TV reception at all, nor radio, and Dave was very LUCKY to get any phone reception.

He could text me, but my texts were not going through to him. I could call him, but he could not make any outgoing calls. Goofy stuff.

So, if he wants to talk to me, he needs to text me to call him. Silly stuff, that.

I took a nap after the game, having gotten up at 5:00 to have coffee with Dave before he left.

I also did a lot of other little things that I have been meaning to get at, but never found the time. I do have one really unpleasant task to do today that I am not looking forward to. I was getting bird seed out of the closet on Saturday and the bad broke and dumped seed all over my closet floor. The closet floor that was covered in shoes and various other things that will take a bit of time to go through. So, that's on my agenda for tonight.

And carving another pumpkin. And working out. And maybe starting on cleaning out my laundry room.

I made a HUGE list of things to do while Dave is gone, since when he's home, he loves to take up all my time. I'm not complaining, I love it, too, but I just need to take advantage of when he's gone to get stuff done.

He won't be back until Thursday, so I am trying to get stuff done each and every night.

On Saturday, I had Dave take a look at my car for me. The steering was making a strange sound when I first turn the wheel. I couldn't turn the wheel AND look under the hood at the same time, so I asked Dave for help. We saw that the rack and pinion was really loose. Great. So, this morning, I took it to my usual place and had Mike take a look at it and I just told him to watch the rack and pinion for what it does. He said immediately, That's not good.

So, guess where my car is? Yup, at Mike's. He said it will be done by the time I get off work today. Thank God. Well, it looks like it's just loose and he should be able to have his guys tighten it up and be done. I don't think there will be a charge since he is the one that put it in in the first place. I had the old rack and pinion in there for 10 years and it never moved, so I am thinking that they should eat this one.

I have the Door Doctor coming out today to fix my garage door opener, too. I am finally gonna get that taken care of. I am getting really tired of having to open the door by hand each time I want in or out. It was something that Hubby never got around to taking care of and I did have Dave try to fix it once, but, while he WAS able to put the new gears in, we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't adjust properly. So, yeah, been using the old hand lift method of opening. It gets tiring after a while.

so, hopefully that will be fixed when I get home. And with my car getting fixed today, too, I feel like things are coming together.

Okay. I have some work to do, so I guess I will start that now.

<< welcome >>
