<< Haunted houses, apples, and the Vikings!!! >> Another busy weekend. The time just FLIES by. Friday night, Dave, April, Doug and I took my car and drove up to Zorbaz (a local hot spot) for dinner and a couple of drinks. The MAIN attraction, however, was the haunted house they stage in their lower level for a local charity. Dave was actually NERVOUS about this. We were teasing him about it, of course, but it was just so funny that this grown man was scared of a haunted house!!! I mean, KIDS were going through this thing. anyway, he made it through. It wasn't nearly as scary as I had hoped and it was just fun, however Doug and April were pushing ME to go through first. Too funny. I laughed the whole way through and Dave held my hand and pretended he was protecting ME. Gotta laugh at that stuff. Then we all went home to relax the rest of the evening. We were both pretty tired and just watched TV the rest of the night. Saturday was a busy day, too. April and Dave and I drove down to Jordan to pick apples. I had a feeling that Doug would cancel on us, and he did. He just doesn't care to do things like that because APRIL wants to do it. There are some serious issues in that relationship, I tell you what!! But there it is. It's not up to ME if April wants to spend her live with a guy like that. Anyway, so he canceled but the three of us went and Dave drove us there and back and pretty much took are of his "bitches". LOL!!! We had a great time, however the apples were a LOT more expensive down there then they are in Bayfield, WI, where I usually go to pick apples. So, I don't know if I would go again to Jordan. I just wasn't that impressed with their set up as I am with Bayfield. Next year I will drag everyone to Wisconsin and show them what apple picking is REALLY all about! But, still, we had a great time. We went to Mystic Lake Casino afterwards and spent a little time there, drove home again and were relaxing in the living room by 6:00. Perfect!!! Relaxed the rest of the evening and pretty much just watched TV and enjoyed ourselves. Sunday, got to try to sleep in late. However, I did not make it. I woke up at 5:30 with a coughing fit. Dave managed to get back to sleep, but I was up for the day. So, I went home and spent a couple of hours taking care of stuff that I needed to do. Laundry, pet related stuff, vacuuming, some internet time, and some DVR watching. It was time well spent and I got a LOT done in that short amount of time. I even managed to get to the store before I saw that Dave was up and ready for coffee. I ran over there and pretty much never came home again the rest of the day, except to let my doggies out. Dave was SUPPOSED to go to his parents' place for lunch but he didn't feel like driving 1.5 hours there and then back again just for lunch, so he called them up and canceled. We went to Stewart and Heather's to watch the Viking game instead and, while the game was really good and exciting, there was a bit of bullshit going on with rumors and stuff amongst the guests that kinda put a damper on things. It all had to do with one of the ladies being pregnant and no one supposed to know about it. However, one of the guys in the group told another one and that's how things get started. While I don't care a bit about her being pregnant at all, what DID bother me was the guy that started spreading the story was Doug, who has ALWAYS complained about how APRIL talks to everyone with stories about other people and how horrible THAT it. So, he did the same thing about the pregnancy and THAT really bothered me. Doug is one to talk, right? He just did the same thing that he condemns in April. So, who is he to say a word about the gossip when he is just as bad. And so, after the game, THAT was the topic of conversation the rest of the night. Yeah. Well, Dave got involved in the gossip, too, so he was feeling bad that he was involved in it. I, however, was probably the only one that had no clue what was going on. Whatever. Some people just need to grow up and shut up. Dave was feeling bad and he wanted to go to the casino, so we did that. We only stayed for about two hours because I was tired by then, so we drove home and sat in the kitchen and snacked and gabbed the rest of the night about religion and our beliefs. It was enlightening and entertaining to debate free will versus God's will. Fun!!! I went to bed WAY too late and woke up tired. Dave had coffee for me this morning and we talked for a bit and I was a little late for work this morning. That's okay. No one is ever here and no one ever misses me. Jenner called me and we had a great visit. She thinks she may have shingles so she needs to go to the doctor today since she is a care provider and she can pass it along to people who never had chicken pox. Poor girl!!! She says if she does have it, she will most likely need to be off work for two weeks. She's okay with that since she will be able to get caught up on school work and house work. She has enough sick time to cover it so she won't be losing any wages. So, today it looks like it's gonna be a slower day at work. I have a few files to do, but Bossy Man is in Fargo today, which means he won't be sending me anything more. But I better get to them, anyway. Have a wonderful Monday. The day has started out pretty damn good so far!!! |
