<< Another really busy weekend. >>

Another really busy weekend. First it started out with nothing to do, then it picked up pace and turned into a whirlwind of activity and not enough time to relax.

Friday after work, I had to hurry home to take care of my doggies and then get my winter attire put together because we were heading to the high school football game in a town about 1.5 hours away.

Doug drove. April, Dave and I were passengers.

We first went out to eat once we got into Alexandria. The food was really really good. Dave actually bought us dinner, which was nice. Doug usually buys since he as more money than God. After dinner, we headed to the game. As we were walking to the ticket booth, I ran into Steph and Steve. Steve's son is a player so they were there. We were all surprised to bump into each other and Steph wanted me to sit with them. So, we all sat together, Which was great for two reasons. First, I got to visit with Steph, who I have not seen since Jenner's wedding in June, AND the second reason was for the WARMTH!!!! We all huddled together because it was so DAMN COLD!!!

The temp wasn't actually too bad, around the mid-40s, but it was the WIND!!! It was blowing right at the visitor's bleachers. I am glad I brought my hat, my ear muffs, my gloves, my blanket, and my bleacher seat thingy. Sooooo much nicer.

I don't think I really got to see much of the game, because Steph and I were gabbing the whole time. It was fabulous!!!

Oh, and during half time, while we were warming up in the car, it started snowing.

Not a little. But it looked like a near white out. Man, it was only early October! What the hell???

After the game, which the Warriers lost, so sad, we drove home. The roads were getting slippery and the visibility was horrid. I am so glad I did not drive. It took us a little longer to get home, but it was fine. We made it.

I was beat so I immediately went to bed after taking care of my doggies.

Saturday morning was nearly perfect!!!

I had promised April that I would have coffee and donuts in the morning and to come over. But, the roads had frozen overnight and it was way too icy. I was NOT going to go out in THAT for just DONUTS. So, I canceled, that which meant that Dave and I just sat around for about six hours and drank coffee and just gabbed. Now, THAT'S what Saturday mornings are for!!!!

We eventually got our shit together and, since we had decided to have Doug and April over for my "famous" chicken and rice dinner, I had to get the ingredients for it.

We did a lot of running around then. Dave had surprised me by putting up my gutters on Friday while I was at work, but he ran out of the brackets, so we had to pick up more of them. We also had to run to pick up the donuts that I had a raincheck for that was expiring that day. A trip to the bank also was on tap. And, of course, the trip to the grocery store. A lot of stops and we got everything done in a flash!!!

I ran home to get my own stuff done around my house and then ran back to Dave's to get dinner going.

Then Dave decided he wanted his new computer desk put together and his living room furniture all set up differently. I told him NOT to bite off more than he can chew, but he wanted to do this. I was less than enthusiastic, to say the least. I just wanted to relax for a while before company came over. But he started putting together the desk and wanted my help, so I got down on the floor and helped. Of course his phone rang and it was a client who he HAD to talk to, so I ended up putting the desk together by myself. THEN, of course, we had to move the OLD desk and put the new on in place, meaning that I had to unplug all his computer stuff and then put it all back together again. Dave can't do that stuff. He knows NOTHING about computers.

By the time I was putting everything together, we got a call from Doug, who was canceling dinner. I talked to April and invited HER to still come over, which she was happy to do. And then we called Brian, who was in town for the weekend and invited him, and he was happy to get a home cooked meal.

So, we still had company, which was nice. April went home shortly after dinner to spend time with her step-daughter, but Brian stuck around until 11:00, by which time I was dead on my feet. The guys were getting loopy from drinking my wine, so they were just too silly for words.

I went home to let my doggies out once again and got them settled for the night. And then hit the sheets.

The next morning, I woke up at 5:00 (again!!!!) and then actually managed to get back to sleep and slept in until 8:00!!! Wow!!!

We had decided to have people over for the Viking game, so we had to get snacks and stuff for that. I went by myself to do this stuff, and I rushed through the whole process.

Dave, of course, had to get more seating for people and he was busy doing that while I got food together.

I am constantly running to my house to get this and get that since Dave's ex-wife took nearly all the kitchen stuff and he has just the basics. I swear half of my kitchen stuff is in his house now!! LOL

People came over. We watched the game. the Vikings won!!! Woot!!

I was supposed to go to Sam and Matt's for Matt's birthday dinner, but Dave's family called and they were coming to town at the casino unexpectedly, so I had to cancel Sam and went with Dave to see his family. That was fine. I really like his sister and I think she likes me, too.

We had fun there but I had told Dave that I wanted to be on the road, heading home again by 7:30 and he kept his word on that and we got home around 8:30 or so.

I stuck around for a while, just looking at Dave's old high school yearbooks. Too funny!! I was laughing at all the things the girls wrote to him. I told him that he hasn't changed a BIT, judging by the comments written in there. Loved it!!!

then we went to bed and the whole week starts all over again. Work, home, sleep, work, home, sleep.

Oh, I am doing something a little different tonight. I am babysitting Sam's kids tonight. I am NOT looking forward to it. I really don't like to babysit, but I know that Sam would not ask me unless she could not find someone else to do it. She originally said it was for one hour, which I agreed to. Then yesterday she told me it would be about two hours. So, whatever. I am usually tired on Mondays so I hope I am not too crabby tonight.

Oh, and I have to pick them up at daycare, which will be interesting. I will have to juggle two kids and two car seats and a diaper bag. I haven't done stuff like that in a LONG time, so it will be tons of fun. Not.

Dave has appointments tonight and tomorrow and may stay up north for the night so he doesn't have to drive too much. I hope he does that instead of driving home since it wears him out so much. Plus, I have stuff to do around my house and I need some time without him around all the time. When he's home, I want to be with him and it's hard to stay home and take care of my stuff.

I need to start working on getting my upstairs office cleaned out so I can get my WORK office set up. I have decided to go ahead and work from home but I have some stuff to take care of before that can happen. All it will take is TIME and that is hard to come by when Dave is around. Not that I am complaining, mind you.

Okay, enough of this. I need to get some stuff done around here. Like WORK!!!
