<< A good weekend >> The weekend was fun. We went out on Friday night to the Homecoming festivities in my little town. Which mainly consisted of going to one packed bar and talking to everyone you knew there. And some that you didn't. But I got some dancing in and generally had a good time. I was the designated driver so I only had two glasses of wine and quit early. The funny thing about being the DD is that I was told by everyone that I drove that when I decided to leave, we would all go. I was tiring early so I was started telling my passengers that I was leaving in ten minutes. A half hour later, I was still trying to get them to go. And another half hour later, I finally I was done, and the bus was leaving. So, what did Doug and April do? They found another ride home. Well, thanks, guys. You SAID that when I was ready to go, you would go, no objections. And then you made me wait another hour to leave and then you don't even ride with me after all? Whatever. So, I drove Dave home, dropped him off and went home to sleep. And sleep I did!!! The next morning, I woke up WAY too early, around 5:00 a.m. and, not being able to sleep anymore, got up and got ready to go to Superior for my niece's wedding. I got to Jenner's at 9:50 for our scheduled 10:00 departure time. That of course never happened and we ended up not going for another half hour. But that was to be expected. so, I drove up. No problems there. Visited with the family and everyone got ready for the wedding. It was so pretty and my niece was just a beautiful bride, looking so radiant. After the wedding, we all went back to my mom's since there was time between the wedding and the reception. Got to the reception and had a great time. The food was good, the dancing was a lot of fun. I did a lot of dancing and it was just plain, old FUN!!! The only thing was that my niece's mother, the ex-sister-in-law, told her to go clean off the tables in the side room, where the family was sitting. Okay. Should the BRIDE be cleaning off tables when the bride's mother was just sitting, doing nothing? Not in MY book. So, my sisters and I saw Jessica cleaning off tables and we intervened and made her to back to her party and we took care of the clean up. What kind of thing is that to ask the bride to do? Clean off the tables. What a bunch of bull. Jessie was so upset about her mother making her do that, she was getting teary eyed. Her mother is not the nicest person alive and this is just another example of poor judgment. Okay. Whatever. Yesterday, Jenner had said she wanted to leave Superior by 9:00. Of course, she and Jason were not ready to leave until 10:00. Typical. We got home around 12:30 and I just took care of the animals and then took a nap. Dave was out with Doug, helping him take the boats out of the water, so I was not able to see him for quite some time. They didn't get back until around 6:00 and I went over there after he was home and we gabbed for a while. I ended up spending the night at Dave's last night. I came home this morning to do my morning routine and I was just getting myself dressed when Amy's cat, Daisy, came into my bedroom. She was still feeling out of sorts a bit but happy to see me. She was cuddling with me and purring and everything seemed good, until I saw her laying on top of my clothes that I had picked out for the morning. She moved and I saw that she had pissed on them. She pissed on my clean jeans and my warm jacket. Yeah, I was not too happy about that one, especially since I didn't have another clean pair of jeans to wear. Everything else was either in the wash or in the laundry to be washed. I was just a bit ticked off. then I remembered WHY I had to have Amy take her cat out of my house the LAST time I watched her. She peed all over my floor. I just can't have that in my house. It's hard enough to keep on top of my own animals without having to clean up piss off my floor from an animal that is not even mine. So, I need to call Amy today and tell her she needs to find another place for her immediately. I don't dare lay anything down for fear the cat will pee on it. So, we are not too amused this morning with the cat. I can't believe that I totally forgot that Daisy is a pee-er. I hate to call Amy, but I have to. I just can't deal with a peeing cat in the house. My cat doesn't do that. She uses the litter box. I don't know why Daisy doesn't use the box. It's clean. And it's separate from Sadie's. Whatever. The cat has to go. Tonight I was invited to go to Heather's to watch the Viking-Packer game with her and April. But I just don't feel like it. After the last few days where I have been around so many people, I just feel the need for a nice quiet evening alone. I can watch the game on my own TV and sit back and crochet and just relax. And also get some laundry done. And I have apples to peel and freeze. And a pie to make. My mom gave me apples this weekend and I have two bags that need attending. Okay. Enough of this. I have lots of work to do. |
