<< A good weekend. >>

An incredibly SHORT weekend.

Well, the HOURS were exactly the same as any other weekend, but the activity made it SEEM so short!!! It was RUN RUN RUN!!!!

Friday, I wanted to go tanning after work, but when I pulled into the lot, I spied the ex's car there, so I just kept a-rolling through and went out the other exit. I did not want a confrontation. Especially not on a FRIDAY!!

I went home, then, and took care of the doggies and then went over to Dave's. I thought a nice nap at his house before he came home would feel good.

Nope.

I could not fall asleep. I kept "hearing" his garage door open and then I would listen to hear his steps in the house. Of course, it never was him, it was my imagination. So, I gave up trying to sleep. Went back home and cut more wood for my christmas project. I thought I should make two more, one for each of Dave's daughters, so I started THAT. Then I did some sanding, painting, and gluing and a little sewing to get those two caught up with the stage the others were in.

then Dave finally made it home. I went over there and we hung around the rest of the night. He was tired and so was I, however the gang came down and we hung out together and stayed up WAY too late.

Saturday Dave and I went to Alexandria to two of his granddaughter's birthday party in the City Park. It was so much fun. He has SIX granddaughters, all under the age of 6. I had met three of them before, but met two others on Saturday. (the last one was spending the day with her father, so could not come) The kids all took to me. I loved them all!! They were so cute and all look alike. Long brown hair, dark eyes, beautiful olive skin. Gorgeous!!! Dave and I spent most of the afternoon pushing them in swings. The oldest girl, Michelle, really liked me and wanted me to just be with her the whole afternoon. More than one of the girls asked me if they could come home with me. It really warmed my heart and I know Dave was happy that they liked his girlfriend, too.

His mother, however, is a bit of a different story.

I had met her before and when Dave told her that I made him an apple pie. Her response to that was that he doesn't NEED pie, tapped his stomach, and then said that SHE makes the best apple bars that he LOVES.

So, I had her pegged immediately!! Dave was her last child, the baby of the family, and NO ONE is going to be good enough for her baby boy!!!

That's fine. I can deal with that.

On Saturday, when they arrived and came over to where Dave and I were sitting, his mother did not acknowledge me until Dave mentioned me. She looked at me and said, yes, she remembered me, and that was it. No HI. No HOW ARE YOU? Nothing. Very very cold.

I asked Dave later in the car if that is what she is always like, or does she just not care for me? He said that she is a very cold person and not to take it personally. And THAT is why he didn't want me to meet her. Dave has expressed to me that he never felt LOVE when he grew up and I can see why now. It's really sad.

Anyway, Nikki, the mother of the birthday girls, was so happy we went and we had such a good time, and we ARE going to try to have the grandbabies visit us for a weekend slumber party. It would be so much fun and the parents can get a break for a change!!!

I really loved all the girls and it felt so nice to be accepted without question. Well, that is by everyone but Dave's parents.

I'll get over it.

Then we drove back home. Took care of some stuff around our houses and then got back in the car and drove to the casino. I haven't been there in a LONG time and we thought it would be a fun evening. It was. I was winning and did pretty good. We went back home and everyone came down for a drink on the deck. I was too tired to even THINK about the next morning. Everyone kinda likes it when I made breakfast for everyone one morning during the weekend, but I just didn't have it in me this weekend, so when Dave told Brian that I would be making breakfast the next morning, I said no and Brian was fine with that. He knows that I need to get my stuff together, too, and it is NOT an obligation that I do this for everyone. Just something I like to do, but did not want to this time around.

On Sunday, I slept in until 7:00 and then just tried to get motivated. I ended up just putzing around the house until nearly 10:00, barely feeling like even getting in the shower. I got some laundry done and new sheets put on my bed, but that was about it.

I put together a batch of Finnish Pancakes for him and brought over the batter and baked it in his oven. We ate breakfast and then April was texting me about where we were going that day. We had a choice of watching the Viking game at Cary's cabin on Mille Lacs, or at Stewart's at his house.

I did NOT want to go to Stewart's because I really don't like the man very much. He is very disrespectful of women and will pretty much ignore me unless he wants a quick feel. I hate men like that!!! I pretty much keep away from him. I know Dave really likes the man and he felt that he OWED Stewart some time together because Stewart always takes the guys out and takes care of them pretty well. But Dave also knew that I really don't like the man and I would be much more comfortable at Cary's cabin.

April was only going to Cary's cabin if I was going, so I had to let her know. So, we went to Cary's. We got our stuff together and headed out there. It was a really nice time. We ate a lot of food and watched a good game and I brought my crocheting with so I could do that while I watched the game. It was fun. April was getting a little fed up with Doug's attitude, but she is struggling right now with what she wants to do. I think she may be thinking of leaving him. Anyway, so we had a talk about Doug on the way to the cabin. April is becoming more and more of a friend and she has been hanging out with me more and she has been inviting me down to see her more often. I told Dave that, oddly enough, Dave and I are the most stable of all the couples she knows. I think that's kinda funny, actually.

After the game, Dave wanted to go to the casino again since it was so close, so we did that. Stayed for about an hour and then headed home.

We stopped at Wally World on the way home and Dave insisted on getting me a birthday present while we were there, so he picked up a HUGE Viking throw for me and a Viking jersey with Adrian Peterson's number 28 on it. It's really really cool. But now he won't let me actually HAVE them until next Monday, when the actual date of my birth occurs. What an ass!!! hee hee hee

He was cooking dinner for the two of us (tenderloin and corn on the cob!!! NUMMY!!) when we started getting the phone calls and text messages. Everyone wanted to come down. We invited Doug and April for dinner and they said they would come. Then Brian and Angel came with them. So, we had a LOT of people over who were eating. Luckily we had enough food for all.

Then the ladies left. Then Brian left. It was just Dave, Doug and I left. We sat outside until 11:00. then I went home to sleep.

It was a good weekend, but, again, WAY too short.

I had left a few things here at work to do from last Friday because I just plain ran outta time. So, I finished those today. Bossy Man left me a message, saying he was sleeping in due to NO sleep last night and I had to cancel one of his appointments.

And, so I have nothing to do already. I was hoping there would be files in my inbox this morning since on Mondays I usually have Friday and Saturday time entries to do and it's hard to do TWO days worth of entries in one day and I wanted to get started. But nope. No work from him yet. And with him sleeping in, who knows when I will get them.

I am never happy, am I???

Okay, gonna run. Why? I have no idea.

<< welcome >>
