<< Sleepless in Minnesota >> It's 4:00 a.m. and I have not slept a wink yet. And I need to start getting ready for work at 5:30. Think I'm gonna get any sleep at all? Nope. Not even gonna try anymore at this point. And I actually gave up two hours ago. My head is full of crap right now and I really tried to turn it off, but it wouldn't go away. I have a feeling that I will sleep really really well tonight when I finally get off work in, oh about, 11.5 hours. Wow. 11.5 hours more of being awake, with very little sleep under my belt. Doesn't sound like much fun. anyway, so my update: Yesterday, work was really really boring. I figured that, with Bossy Man coming back to work after two days off, it would be pretty hectic. He called me a few times, mostly with the need for phone numbers, a couple of letters and to tell me that he didn't find Beer on a Stick at the MN State Fair. However, he DID find the beer gardens, so he was not "dry" at all. He did stop in on his way back north from the Twin Cities and gave me some transcription files to work on. However, that only took roughly a half hour to complete, so it was back to boredom!!! After work, I went to get my tabs for my car. No problems there. Got them. I am legal. I just have a feeling that Jim has the renewal card and is laughing because he thinks I can't get tabs. I am more resourceful than that!!! Went home. Took a nap in preparation for being out tonight for Karaoke. Got up. Got myself all prettified and then headed to Sam's. Sam has a new babysitter. Well, actually TWO. These girls are so excited about watching the baby that they fight over him. The best part? They get Sam moving quicker than usual. We actually got out of her house by 8:30, instead of the usual 9:30. So, we got down to the bar earlier than normal. It was so much nicer to actually be able to spend time there before I have to run back home because I have to sleep. Anyway, I had fun. It was good. Matt's mom and dad came down for the first time because they hear all about Karaoke night and they wanted to check it out. I get along great with them and Shirley, the mom, is more than willing to allow me to share her grandson with her. I played a game of pool with Charles, losing quite badly, mind you. But it was all in fun. Matt was telling me about this guy, Mike, who was there last week, too, and who sang a really bad rendition of Phil Colin's "In the Air Tonight." I just HAD to ask Mike to sing it for me. He was so pleased to oblige me and he gave it all he had. And it really was horrible!! But I rewarded him with a thank you hug afterwards and told him he should sing it EVERY week since it was so awesome!! Matt repeatedly told me how much he hated me for that!!! Too funny!!! I made it home by 11:00 and had a few words with Dave, who was waiting for me on his deck. So, we exchanged our words, I walked out and then I could not sleep. So, here I am. Sulking and wondering what is going to happen. I am about 95% sure everything will be fine between us, but there is that lingering doubt. So, I will just let it happen the way it will. If we are done, we are done. And if so, I will need to figure out a few things. But that is not for tonight. That is for tomorrow. Opps. It already IS tomorrow. Oh well. I am tired. Not thinking straight right now anyway. I am thinking that a nice pot of coffee will be good in about half an hour. If I get my act together this morning, I think I will do the Wally World shopping I need to do BEFORE work instead of after, since I am up and eager to get my day started anyway. The silver lining, you know. Okay. Time for one more smoke and then I think I will hit the shower. Have a great day!!! |
