<< Driving to the airport. >> Damn. Hit a wrong button and completely lost my entry. Oh well. Starting over. I got to work late this morning because I had to pick up Dave and Doug at the airport last night. Their flight was to arrive at 8:16, but didn't actually make it until 8:30 (NOT a huge difference), but the guys were so SLOW in getting off the plane and meeting me that it was nearly 9:00 before we actually left the airport parking lot. Doug had been calling me and texting me about how he wanted to stop at Don Pablo's in Maple Grove for a quick bite to eat. And since he knew I had to get up the next morning and work, he wanted to make sure it was okay with me. I said fine. I was not driving home and I could crash if I got tired. Doug was driving back home since I can't see after dark. anyway, so that was settled and we went there. I wasn't really hungry, I thought, so I didn't order anything other than a drink, until Dave's food came and I stole one of his tacos. He had to order another one to replace it!!! Then we got back in the car. I figured they would be too tired to gab so I thought I could get some sleep. Nope. They talked the whole way. Which was nice since it made the drive go by quicker. We got home around 12:30 and I went to take care of my dogs. I thought Dave would be too tired to have company but he insisted that I come back over and spend the night with him. He missed me!! So, I did that. And fell asleep immediately!!! I had set my alarm for 6:30 instead of the usual 5:30 since I knew I was going to be exhausted and also because Bossy Man is in the Cities today at the State Fair and he said he was NOT going to call me. Yipee!!! Went home, showered, ate breakfast, went back over to Dave's, made coffee, woke him up, had a cup and here I am. At work. With TONS of stuff to do this morning. But I have two days in which to do it since Bossy Man will not be around, so I am not panicking about how much there is. Now, the weekend other than driving to the Cities was pretty good. I had a lot of stuff I wanted to get done and I managed to get MOST of my list completed. I did laundry, I deep cleaned the family room carpet (and I added the stairs, a landing, and the craft room area rug, too for good measure), I exchanged those deck boards I had bought at Home Depot for the correct ones, I went tanning, I mowed my lawn, I washed and hung out to dry Dave's sheets along with my own, made both beds, I cut out all the wood pieces I need for my Christmas craft gifts, I sanded and painted quite a few of those (I ran outta time). I even managed to go out with the girls on Saturday night to the downtown street dance. Now, THAT was another goofy thing. April drove us, which is great. However, since SHE drove, she decided it was TOO cold after we had only been there two hours and half of THAT was spent in one of the bars, getting something to eat, so when she decided it was time to go, it was time to go. Yeah, a pretty short evening. I kept running into people I knew, so that was nice, however just when I was feeling pretty good, April pulled the plug. anyway, the weekend was FULL of things to do and get done and I ended up not having too much time missing Dave. Don't get me wrong. I did miss him. Like crazy, but when you are busy, the time goes by quickly. Oh, and I had a call from him while he was gone, saying how much he wished he hadn't gone on this trip, that he was miserable, that he was not having fun, that he would NEVER go on a guys' trip again, yada yada yada. I know that will only last so long. Anyway, he told me he scoured the beach for seashells for me and he brought me back some. So, I am looking forward to seeing those. Oh, I also went over to April's on saturday morning for coffee and gabbing. I asked her if she knew that Doug had told me he was going to throw me a birthday party. (I didn't want her to be surprised about it and not prepared. You know how guys are). anyway she was surprised because Doug told HER it was a surprise party. What a goofball. He asked me what I wanted to do at the party, so how could it be a surprise. well, that's Doug for ya. Sounds like fun, no matter what. But that's a few weeks off yet. Okay. NOW I have to get to work. Tons of stuff in my inbox Happy Monday!!! |
