Work was really good yesterday. Did ALL my work and even found time to watch two episodes of Coupling and a full movie later in the day.

Yeah, Bossy Man being gone really makes life easier for me.

He DID call me yesterday. About an hour before quitting time. (Quitting time from WHAT? Had a SLOW day!!!)

He just wanted to make sure that everything was okay and there were no fires to put out.

Nope. Everything was just GREAT!!! I even told him that it was really nice to have two days to get work done without having phone calls from HIM coming in every five minutes.

I DID hear from my district manager who asked me if I wanted to work from home. I said yes!!!!

She said we would see about doing that after the first of the year.

I am thinking, why wait????

Anyway, the only issue I have with that is WHERE the hell am I going to be living after the first of the year?

Oh well.

Dave said that I could put my office at his house. I could do that. I could tell them that I moved in THERE. The company would not care WHERE it was, just as long as it was somewhere that they could save a bit on rent.

I found out that one of the admin assistants from Southern MN is working out of her home now. I need to ask her how it's going for her and I would also like to know how much the company would be paying me for rent, electricity, internet, phone, etc. I am NOT doing this for FREE, people. They will have to pay me SOME rent, don't you think?

My current office is really cheap. I believe they are only paying something over $300 a month for it, so I am sure they would not be willing to pay too much for renting my office space out in my home.

But think of the advantages here:

I can just drag my ass outta bed mere MINUTES before work time.

Go to work in my robe, if I want.

Get stuff done around the house while working, ie: laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc.

Not have to worry about my dogs being home all day without being let outside.

I can watch my DVR when things are slow.

I can have a landline again without paying for it myself.

Free high speed internet in my home. (I have it now, but am paying for it)

I can have company anytime I want.

Bossy Man will NEVER come to see me anymore.

No drive to and from work. A gas savings!!!

The disadvantages:

Having to SHUT OFF WORK when the time comes.

Bossy Man thinking that I will ALWAYS be available to work, even after hours. That's HIS mentality. I would have to learn to ignore phones ringings after hours.

Not having anywhere to go every day. I could very easily become a hermit!!!

Having company any time of the day. Yeah, some friends might take advantage of the fact that I am home all day long and available.

No central air in my home, therefore on hot days, I would not have a nice, cool place to hang for eight hours.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else that would be a disadvantage.

I think the pros outweigh the cons, easily.

So, bring it on, baby!!!!

Moving on..........

After work, I went home and took care of things there. Then I headed over to Dave's, where I sat on his deck (even though it was hot and humid outside. It was actually a bit TOO cold in his house!!!) and I read my book and waited for him to come home. He did eventually and we had dinner together. Then he wanted to fix Trish's lawn mower, so he did that. I headed home to take care of my dogs and some other stuff around the house. I went back over to Dave's. He was testing out the mower so I parked my carcass on the deck again and read for a while, until Doug and April showed up.

We sat for a while and gabbed about the upcoming weekend at Lake of the Woods. What we need to bring, what we are going to do, what the weather is going to be like, etc.

The weather is looking iffy. We are NOT fishing if it's raining or storming, so we might end up just holed up in our cabin the whole weekend. That would be okay. I WOULD like to go fishing, but I am a bit nervous about how BIG this lake is and how far out they want to go to find fish.

So, whatever.

Doug has been bugging me for DAYS now about getting off work on Friday early. First he wanted me to just take off an hour earlier. Then he wanted me to take a half day off. Then he wanted me to call in sick that day and take the whole day.

I keep reminding him that I have to WORK!!! That I can't just take off like he can. He, April and Dave are all self-employed, so they can make their own schedules.

I can't.

The bugging was getting so bad I was about ready to tell Doug to just go without me. And go fuck himself.

But he calmed down. I told him last night that I had decided to take off at 2:00 on Friday. That will keep him quiet and I won't feel too bad about leaving work THAT early.

Then it turns out that Trish is heading up that way, too, on Friday and she doesn't want to ride alone. So, April and I are going to ride with her. Trish is getting off work at 2:00, also, so it works out fine. The guys will go up earlier in the day with the boat and get it all set up so once the ladies get there, everything will be ready and we won't have to do anything.

Perfect!!!!

It's at least a four hour drive for us since we won't be slowed down by a boat, so it's still plenty long. Four hours stuck in the car with April, though, should test my patience level pretty good. I guess I should get used to it since she is coming with us to Cancun in December. And I'll be spending a lot of time with her.

Don't get me wrong. I like April. She just likes to preach about healthy things all the time. All the while smoking cigarettes!! I try not to let that bother me.

Anyway, she and I are going to quit smoking at the same time. I am going to quit while Dave is in Myrtle Beach at the end of this month. I think it will be easier without being around him because he smokes, too.

Trish left early, after getting her lawn mower back. And Doug and April left around 9:45 or so. I went home to take care of my dogs and take my contacts out. I came back and went immediately to bed. And to sleep. I was TIRED!!!

Dave stayed up and watched TV for a while. I barely woke up when he came to bed.

This morning, I got up early and ran home to take care of the dogs, shower, have breakfast and run back to Dave's to wake him up and make coffee.

Then off to work!!!

Oh, I got my lawn darts yesterday!!! Woot woot!!! Looking forward to a lawn dart tournament in my future!! It's too hot right now to do it, and the mosquitoes are HORRIBLE. We have had so much rain that the bugs are everywhere!!! They aren't even waiting until dark to come out. It's all day long!!!

I think each of us sprayed ourselves with Off at least four times each. They just kept coming!!!!

We did see the mama deer with her three babies last night again. I tried to get some pictures of them, but it was just too dark.

I did get some the night before, though.

We haven't seen the fox in a while, though. Not sure where he went to.

Okay. Time to get to work. I have an invoice I have to reenter into the system because SOMEONE wasn't watching the billing on it. So, it needs to be totally reentered, and there are at least 50 entries. YIKES!!!!

Lots of cutting and pasting in MY future!!!
