<< A semi-quiet evening and Lawn Darts >> Work yesterday was pretty much the same as it has been for the last few weeks. Lots of work in the morning and then Bossy Man leaves me alone the rest of the day (mostly) and so there is nothing in the afternoon. Bossy Man just has NO clue how long it takes to get my work done and I know he thinks he is giving me enough work to last all day long. But I am a much quicker worker than that! I usually get everything done by lunch time. I spent some time looking online for Lawn Darts. I finally found a guy on Craigslist that was selling them. He contacted me this morning and said he still had them and did I want them? I am currently in communication with him to see if I can have them shipped to MN. After work, I was going to go to the fair because I thought that Dave was going to be gone until later, but he called me and told me he was on his way home, so I went home instead. I guess I COULD still have gone to the fair, because other than a quick drive by kiss on my way home, I really didn't see him until two to three hours later. I was busy!! I deep cleaned another landing in my house and a third of the stairs. I also did more laundry and even went for a long bike ride to Whipple Beach and sat on a table and watched the water skiers. Oh, and I HAD to take a turn on the swings, too. I LOVE to swing. Even though I'm an old fart, I still love to swing!!! I went over to see Dave and have a smoke. He was working on the Mustang and I just watched for a bit and then went back home for some dinner. I went back about an hour later and he was still working on the 'stang but just finishing up. Then he made himself some dinner, which really looked disgusting. He had some calls to make for work so I ran back home to get my book and came back and cuddled up on his couch to read for a while. It's hard to concentrate on reading when you have a guy on the phone, talking as loud as Dave does. He is NOT a quiet man at all. LOL Then we just hung around for a bit until he said he wanted to go for a walk. Dave is NOT the Going For A Walk type of guy. And I found out why. We went home and grabbed Indy to take him along and I took them both along the route that I normally take. A total of around two miles. Dave was out of breath by the time we were a quarter of the way. I should have turned around then and took them both back home. But Indy loved it. And I needed a walk, too. So, we went the whole way. Dave was exhausted by the time we were back home and pretty much crashed on his chair. He was falling asleep, so I got up and went home early. Around 9:15!!! I played on Facebook with my virtual puppy for a while. The poor thing has been neglected and was starving. then off to bed. I was just pulling my car out of the garage this morning to go to work when I got a text from Dave asking me to stop by for coffee. I had a quick cup and here I am. Dave was either still tired or the caffeine hadn't kicked in yet because he was pretty quiet. And for DAVE, that's something really odd!!!! LOL Today after work, my goal is to go tanning and then maybe hit the fair for that fatty food I was promising myself. Then I might take my boards back to Home Depot and see if they will exchange them for the CORRECT ones. And then, MAYBE, get some of them in place on my deck. I also wanted to trim my bangs, clean my bathrooms, work on getting my family room ready for a deep cleaning, and washing and drying all my linens from my bed. Yeah, I think I might be biting off a bit more than I can chew. April invited me to go to pig races on Friday night with her and Doug's family. I don't know about that. Stewart and Heather would be there. Heather, I LOVE!! Stewart, not so much. I always call him KING Stewart because he likes to have things HIS way. April and I were talking about him the other night and she and I think the same about this guy. If it's not HIS way, it's no way. When I was gone last weekend, there was a poker game at his house and when Stewart decided that he was done, it was all over. One hand, everyone was in, and winner take all. That is NOT how we play poker. Everyone was upset about how Stewart decided it for everyone and no one was happy about it. If you start a poker game in this group, you are in to the end and that's that. No one was happy, except for maybe Dave, who won the pot. But still, KING Stewart had his way and that was that. It was agreed we would NOT play poker at his house again. If we play poker, it will be a Doug's. There the rules are consistent and everyone is happy. He also has his GUYS night out on Wednesday nights. And no one can bring a girlfriend or wife along unless HE says so. So, I have never been invited, however HE brings his wife or he brings some other woman that he is currently flirting with. It makes the rest of the women in the group NUTS. And even the other guys don't like it. Dave gets upset if a female shows up for guys night out. Oh oh oh!!!! I just got a message from the guy with the Lawn Darts. He will sell them to me for $30 including shipping. Woot!! Not bad for a set of Lawn Darts, still in the box. You cannot get these things anywhere since the sale has been banned in the US and Canada. I KNOW the hazards of these things, but, man, Lawn Darts RULE!! I have NO kids around so I will have no problems keeping them away from small children. Oh, to play Lawn Darts again whenever I want to!!!! Be still, my heart!!!! LOL Okay. I better get going. I also see work coming in to my inbox. Man, I would rather play Lawn Darts!!! |
