<< A really long entry......... >>

Had a great weekend. Lots of fun. Lots of activities. And lots of stuff getting done!!!

Friday, work was NOT the typical Friday. Bossy Man was still in Rochester and then driving most of the day back home again, so I hardly heard from him at all.

So, I got stuff done. And watched some TV on the internet.

And gabbed on the phone.

You know, the typical slow day activities.

After work, I went home and hung around for a while with Dave. We still weren't sure what the plans were for the evening, but we knew we were going to do something. We had LOTS of options and some more were popping up.

Doug called and told us that we were invited to Stewart and Heather's house for a BBQ.

I was in the mood for a "whatever" night. If we went to the Mills' place for BBQ, fine. If not, also fine.

In fact, when Doug called to say HE was not going now since he was having major computer issues that affected his work, he needed to take care of that.

So, Dave kept wondering if we WERE actually invited since DOUG invited us, but he is not the host, and DOUG was no longer going himself.

So, to take the edge off of Dave's anxiety over it (yes, he does obsess over stuff like this) I called April and asked HER. She said that they were wondering why we were not there already, so that answered THAT question.

We stopped by the liquor store to pick up some hard tea for me and away we went.

Got up there just in time to eat. Had a burger or two and went down to the dock and sat there with everyone and gabbed.

It was pretty pleasant.

People started leaving fairly early. Dave and I took off around 9:30 or so and decided to see where Angel was. She was someone else who had asked us to go out with her and her boyfriend (the one who is married and probably will be forever)

We found them at Black Bear. We never got inside the place because they were outside having a smoke when we drove up and so we stayed out with them for a few minutes. When we were ready to go back inside, the employees had locked the doors!!!

I could not believe it!!

It was 10:10 on a Friday night. They advertise Karaoke from 8 to midnight on Friday nights, and they LOCKED UP????

Whatever. Good thing the group didn't leave anything inside.

So we went to a bar downtown and had a couple of drinks (for me. Dave was driving so he had pop) and then we called it a night.

Angel was SOOO happy Dave and I showed up since we were the only ones from the "garage gang" who came and I know she had hoped to have a good showing for this friend of a friend whose friend was in town.

I know. Goofy.

Saturday, I slept in until 7:30!!!!! Woot!!!!

Got up. Hung around. Had coffee. Made breakfast for Dave and I. And just gabbed the day away.

Finally, I told Dave that I HAD to go home and get some stuff done because we went out for the evening.

and I tried to get a nap in.

Yeah. That didn't work out so well.

Got up. Took a shower and went back over to Dave's because we had to head to Walker for the BILLY SQUIRE concert!!!!

Woot!!!

It was so much fun!!!

He sounded exactly the same as he did when he was cutting albums and making hits.

It was really good and I enjoyed every minute of it. Dave had fun, too, and we danced together throughout much of the concert.

Since the concert was at the CASINO, of course we had to sit and play some slots afterwards. I would have been fine going home, but Dave really likes to play. So, I played, too. It was one of those nights that I didn't really give a crap how I played, and of course, that means I was winning.

So, I came out ahead on this deal, including paying for the tickets to the concert.

After that, we drove home and I was dropped off in my driveway and I went immediately to bed. I was wiped!!!!

Sunday morning, I woke up at 6:30 or so. Got my butt up and outta bed and did three loads of laundry, getting two of them out on the line, vacuumed my floors, cut some branches off a tree that was brushing up against my house, measured my boards on my deck that I needed to replace, gabbed with my daughter on the phone, and took care of various little things BEFORE Dave even crawled out of bed.

I got a few more things done and then went to go see Dave and have a cup of coffee with him.

He talked me into making us breakfast, but of course he didn't have enough eggs. So, I had to run home to get those. Too silly!!!

Cooked some over easy eggs for the two of us and then pretty much got myself in high gear and went back home. Went tanning. Stopped at Wally World to get transmission fluid for my car. Picked up some wood at Home Depot for the deck.

Got home around 12:00. Dave wanted to leave for bingo no later than 4:30 so we had to get our stuff done in a hurry.

He was mowing the lawn when I got home, and he wanted to finish that. So, I did my front and side lawns of my own and managed to get the rest of my floors cleaned before he came over to help me with my deck.

I measured the boards and he cut them.

Brian came over and he was checking out my garage door opener and why it doesn't work even after we replaced all the gears and stuff.

He couldn't figure it out, but he kept us entertained.

We finished up the deck as much as we could. We ran out of wood because the wood I bought the second time was WRONG!!! I need to bring it back.

Sigh

anyway, so I told Dave to NOT nail the boards in because I knew he was hot and tired, and I would finish it myself tomorrow, but he had to do it. So, got that done.

I kicked him out so I could take a shower and get ready to go to bingo.

Went to bingo. Didn't win. But that's okay. It was fun anyway. And I didn't really LOSE either, since the $32 I spend on bingo is what I consider "entertainment dollars" and NOT part of what I "gamble" at the casino. The gambling part of the casino came out even for me last night. I didn't win. I didn't lose.

I was pretty beat so we went home pretty quickly after bingo was over. I immediately went to bed and fell asleep.

Wow, this was a LONG entry. Tonight I am alone since Dave has an appointment so I am going to finish mowing my backyard and MAYBE get more rotten boards up off my deck so I know where I am at.

I need to bring back those WRONG boards that I bought and get the correct ones.

Whatever.

But until I do that, there will be plenty for me to do with the ripping up of old boards and stabilizing the joists to allow for the new boards to be nailed down.

After the new boards are in place, then I have to strip old paint off the remaining boards and do some serious thinking about painting!!!

Yikes!! The jobs never end, do they???
