<< Strange day, yesterday. >> Mr. Sun is such a flirt!!! By the time I went out for my first smoke break of the day, he was in hiding once again. And didn't show up until early evening. By then I was too tired to play his games. So, I spent yet another day in a dreary, cloudy state. Work was pretty good, though. I got nearly ALL my stuff done. I filed, scanned, organized and got two hours of Dead Like Me watched. Oh yeah, the life of Feast or Famine!!! Today, I am LOOKING for things to do. I only had one more thing on my list and I have already done that, and it's only 8:36!!! I am making things up to do. I am going to be SOOOO bored today. I have created three new files. I have ordered paper. I am copying new employee packets. I am packing up closed files. I am maybe even dusting the office, even though we have cleaners that come in once a week. Oh, and I am planning a shopping trip for a combination of work items and personal items. And perhaps there will be a nooner in there, today, too. I am seriously bored, people!!!! Feast or famine. After work yesterday I ran home, cooked up the bacon, let my dogs out, changed my clothes, packed my car with the stuff that Sam needed for her baby shower, and headed across town to her house. Once there, I picked out outfits for the girls, got them dressed, brushed their hair, cooked my baked beans, ran to get more ice and generally wondered why the hell no one swept the floors in that house before people came over for a party. The floors??? Icky!! Full of sand and various other bits and pieces. And they don't allow shoes in their house, so my feet were full of this crap. I hate that!!!! Eventually, I just kept my shoes on when I went back inside. Seriously, my shoes were cleaner than the floors, so what the hell???? People started showing up well after the 5:00 party time, which is to be expected, since they all KNOW Sam and know that she's always running late. And she was. So, we played stupid games, of course. I didn't win anything, but I didn't really try too hard either. I was running out of steam. Dave had said he could not make it because he was just getting home from out of town and he was too tired. But Jenner and Jason came and it was nice to see them. I had told Jenner that Dave might be there and she said that was fine as long as we didn't make out in front of her. Too silly for words!!! I reassured her that we would NOT do that and she was fine with the idea. Then Dave did call me and said he was coming over after all. I was a bit worried about how Jenner would handle Dave being there. She was surprised that Sam even knew Dave. She has no idea who I hang out with, of course, or where I go, so of course, she had no idea who knew whom. anyway, Dave arrived and he greeted everyone and made a point to go talk to Jenner and Jason. I love him for that!!! Everyone got along just fine and I think it will be fine in the long run. Jenner will accept that I am seeing someone other than her father. They chatted nice together and Dave could not get over how pretty Jenner is. He told me at least three times last night that she looked wonderful and then again this morning he told me. Of course, he said that she takes after her mother, so that didn't hurt at all!!!! The house was FULL of little kids and it was very chaotic. And for some reason, they all gravitated to ME for whatever they wanted. I guess I look like the maternal type!!! So, I was running to feed kids, fill up their punch glasses, break up disagreements, and toss balloons at them. It was crazy!!! I was more than ready to go home by 8:00 pm. I had been running since 5:30 am and I was beat!!! Got home. Took care of my dogs, even though Indy would NOT go outside because it was thundering out. He's a big chicken when it comes to storms!! I went over to Dave's house after that. He was getting call after call from friends, warning him about the big storm that was heading our way, so he was starting to get nervous. He does not like storms at all, and he was happy to have someone at the house with him. So, we weathered out the storm together, which pretty much consisted of high winds and lots of rain. It had fizzled out a bit so we did not lose power or even cable. In Baxter, usually if the skies spit a little, the power goes out. But nothing last night. We watched some Weeds, Season One together and then went to bed. I slept SOOO good. I fell asleep by 10:30 and did NOT know anything until 5:15 when I woke up slightly early and got ready for work. I went back over to Dave's to have coffee with him before I went to work and he headed out of town again. We had a good visit on the deck and another neighbor came over to gab, too. Got to work late, which is FINE because no Bossy Man today again and NOTHING TO DO!!!! I am running home after work because Doug, April, and Angel are coming over for a fish fry. I have already put together most of my pasta salad. I need to add just two more ingredients and it's good to go. We are going to have a bonfire, too, which will be nice and relaxing. This weekend, the only day it will NOT rain is tomorrow, so it's a mow the lawn day. Finally!!!! The grass is so long, I know the mower it going to get clogged up a bit. I am also going to get back to work on my deck. I still have holes in it where I took out boards but have not found the time to replace yet. Oh, I sent Jim an email yesterday with the info that I need to complete the divorce papers and he sent an email back, asking me if this is REALLY what I want to do, if maybe we could still go to marriage counseling, and could we sit down and talk about it. What the hell? Why is he still hanging on? He knows I am seeing someone else. We have not lived in the same house for seven months. He obviously hates me based on the nasty emails he sends me. And he wants me to go back to him? I couldn't believe what I was reading. Anyway, I sent an email back saying that I WAS certain this is what I wanted and that I was sorry. So, I am hoping I get the info from him today and I can get the papers typed up and sent to him for his approval. There really is nothing to the papers and nothing of real value for us to divide. It should not be a difficult process at all. I am willing to give him just about anything he wants in the house since in the long run, what do possessions mean? Again, there is nothing of real value there, so I am not going to argue over STUFF. Unless I am pushed too hard. Whatever. Anyway, someone actually sent me a fax just now so I better go see what it is. Probably just an offer for a cheap trip to Cancun. I get those at least once a week. Happy Nappy Day!! (No nap for ME, however. Have company coming over!!!) |
