<< Snow!!!! >>
2009-04-01, 7:20 a.m.

A pretty good day yesterday.

Work was pretty busy and I typed all day. To the point where my wrist and shoulders were complaining, but it made the day go by so fast!!!

I didn't have any downtime until the last hour of work, when I pulled out my crocheting and worked on that. I am cruising along with that, too!!!!

The big winter storm fizzled out in the day. They said 7 to 11 inches and I think we only got around 5. It's hard to tell because it was so WET that it just compacted down into a nice, neat little package. The drive to work was great!! Driving through nice fresh snow that hasn't already been trampled on is so nice.

The drive home was something else. With the warmer weather, it just turned the roads into a sloppy mess. I slid all the way home.

I stopped at Fleet Farm on the way, however, to pick up some grout and sidewalk salt.

With the new snow on my roof, it's gonna be dripping right on my front steps and then freezing, making it a hazard. And I was out of salt and Wally World was not getting anymore in.

So, the trip to Fleet Farm.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed in them yesterday. While they did have the nummy, inexpensive big bags of gummy bears (for bingo.....gotta have gummies if you play BINGO!!), they had very LITTLE for selection for grout.

And NO grout sealer that I could find.

So, today, between the end of work and my meeting with the florist, I will go to Menards and look for some grout sealer. Can't have my hard grout work turn to shit in just a small space of time, you know!! Gotta seal those bitchin lines!!!!

Got home. Ate dinner. Which consisted of my leftover salmon from Saturday night.

Nummy!!!!

Then I sat down and watched some TV. Dave called me. He had snow blowed all of the driveways around the neighborhood.

I don't mean ALL of them, just a select few. First he did mine. Then he did his. Then he did Doug's. Then he did this elderly gentleman who lives down the block. He really is a nice man, Dave is.

So, I told him thank you and he invited me over. He said he was going to Doug's for a beer and watch the game, so I only went for a short time. I helped him move his hutch so he could rearrange his living room furniture. Had a couple of smokes and then went home, where I got onto Pogo and finished my personal badge.

Then I went to bed. I didn't really do anything in terms of cleaning except to do a load of laundry.

I was in a kinda reflective mood last night. I was thinking about what I want to do and where I am going. I had a hard time shutting it off, so I switched gears and planned out how I am going to attach the shower and regrout tiles.

Yeah, I'm a geek!!!!

But it did the trick and I fell asleep fairly easily after that.

This morning, I woke up to find that Old Man Winter was NOT quite done with us. He dropped another few inches on me.

And it was the wet, heavy snow!!!

It was sticking to all the tree branches and looked so lovely. I spent the drive into work with my camera on and snapping pictures out the window.

I am sure the other drivers appreciated THAT.

I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, so I have no idea if they are of any good quality or not. Probably not. Hard to drive through heavy snow and take pictures at the same time.

But it was so pretty. Some areas reminded me of the scenes in Narnia where the ice queen had made the region a winter wonderland.

So pretty!!!!

I knew the snow will not last long on the trees, so I had one chance to get these pictures or it would be lost.

After I started my car, I shoveled my sidewalk so it will be nice and clear when I get home. It's gonna be well over freezing today so the sidewalk should be nice and dry by the time I get home.

The driveway is another thing, though. I will wait and see how much melts today. And, who knows? Maybe Dave will come over and clear it off for me, although this heavy stuff is hard on blowers.

Whatever. Doesn't matter. It will melt soon enough.

Okay. Time to get to work. I heard a rumor that I did most of today's work yesterday, so it may be a good crocheting day!!!

Karaoke tonight!!!!! Yipee!!!!!
