<< Another busy weekend. >>
2009-02-16, 7:26 a.m.

well, I was right.

I came down with a bad case of that stupid cold.

I woke up on Friday morning and I could not breath and I was just exhausted.

So, I called in sick to work and went back to bed and didn't wake up again until 10:00.

That felt soooo good!!!

I stayed in bed for a few more hours and didn't do a damn thing.

Except take cold medicine.

By evening, I was feeling better and went out to Angel's birthday party. The first half was at her house and the second was at Black Bear, where we sang karoake.

Okay. I didn't sing, but a lot of our group did.

It was a fun and relaxing evening. I am getting to know everyone in the group or "garage gang" as I like to call them and am feeling more and more like part of the group. It's kinda hard being the late comer in an established group of people.

One funny thing happened. I was driving since I offered NOT to drink that night and be a DD. We were the last to leave, meaning myself, Dave and Doug and I was driving them home.

I have two Viking flags on my car. Year round. No seasonal crap for this girl!!!

Anyway, they are attached to the back windows of my car and Doug, who is a chewer (ICK!!) needed to spit so he opened up my window mid-drive and it just went flying!!!

So, I had to stop the car, hit reverse and Doug ran out to get it for me. Too funny!!! He apologized left and right. It was a good thing the weather wasn't colder because that plastic would have hit the pavement and shattered.

The next day, I slept in until 8:00 or so, which was really late for me. I just hung around the house for a while, then ran to do some errands. I needed dog food and stuff.

Then I had to go out with the garage gang for dinner. It's a usual thing for them to do on Valentine's Day. Dave was driving this time and he is SO ANAL about being places either early or right on time.

Now, when you have dinner reservations, that's great. But when you are going to a party and it starts at, say, 6:30, do you show up at 6:30? HELLS NO. You are always FASHIONABLY late. Yeah, that doesnt' work for Dave. He wanted to be at Angel's at 6:30. We were. And sat around being the ONLY guests for another 45 minutes.

Then when we were going out to eat on Saturday night, he wanted to leave at 6:00 for a reservation that was at 7:00 and the place was only about 15 minutes away from my house.

Yeah, we ended up driving around the lake for a while before we finally parked the car. Then the restaurant didn't have our table for ten ready for another 45 minutes and we ended up in the bar for a long while anyway.

Too funny!!!

Anyway, Dave's daughter, Nikki and her boyfriend were there that weekend, too, but they didn't want to go out to eat with the group. So, we ate, had birthday cake that April brought for Angel, Heather and Jeremy, all of whose birthdays were three days in a row, and then we left and picked up Nikki and TJ and went to the casino, of all places!!!

Gambled for a few hours. It was 10:00 before we left the restaurant, so it was really late by the time we got to the casino. Nearly 11:00. I was a bit tired but game to go along.

After a couple of hours, I found a nice quiet and CUSHY easy chair near a fireplace in the hotel lobby to just crash in. I think I actually fell asleep for a while. Dave came looking for me and once he found me he laughed so hard when he saw me that I was started and jumped about a foot in the air.

I got my butt up and we left the casino, and I pretty much slept on the way home.

Sunday morning, I woke up to the nice thought that Irene NEVER did give me the information about her son's birthday pary, so golly, gee-whiz, I guess I couldn't go!!! LOL

So, I had the day to myself.

Dave had texted me to let me know that he had coffee going and to come over. Which I did for a couple of cups. (Actually I had my own coffee going at home, so I poured a new cup and walked over with it, so I actually only had about a cup of his coffe.) His daughter, Nikki, still wasn't up so I never did see her again. I then went home and cleaned my house for a couple of hours. Then I went tanning and working out at the gym. Then I came home, decided to lay down for a bit because my cold was STILL kicking my butt, and I was JUST about asleep when the dogs started going nuts. I didn't know who was here, but then I got up and say Jason's truck in the drive. He wanted the keys to Jim's truck because he was going to use it for a while. Jim never said a word to me about it.

Anyway, so I get the keys, told Jason I was going to lay down some more and let him do what he needed to do.

But of course, I couldn't get back to sleep.

So, I got up and went outside to see how Jason was doing. He got the truck running pretty easily but getting it out of the snow onto the driveway was another matter.

He tried and tried and tried, but the snow is just too deep and the truck is a piece of crap, so it just was not going to go anywhere.

While I was outside, Dave came out, saw what we were trying to do and came over with his four wheel drive and drove onto the snow to pack it down so Jason could get the truck out.

Still didn't work.

So, Jason is going to get someone with a four wheel drive truck and have him pull it out of the snow.

I imagine my yard is going to look like shit next spring when the snow melts since the guys drove all over it, spinning tires and all that GUY stuff.

Anyway, it will be nice to have the truck out of there. I even got Jason to agree to take a load of stuff to the landfill in exchange for borrowing the truck.

See, I am paying the insurance for this vehicle and Jim just went ahead and loaned it out to Jason without a WORD to me about it.

But speaking of Jim, he sent me a text message again yesterday, while Jason was there and gee, wasn't THAT nice of him???

This time he says that I am right, that he IS a failure and I can do better than him.

Now, where the hell did that come from? I have NEVER called him a failure. Never once.

So, again, I am ignoring this little message and just letting him get stuff out of his system. I only encourage communication with him if I answer and that really is NOT what I want right now.

So, while Jason was working on the truck, I baked some choc chip bars and once he was done, he came in and had a couple with me.

then I brought some over to Dave's since he was nice and helped with the truck.

Then I went home and slept and now here I am.

Monday morning. At least it's a short week for me. I am going out of town after work on Thursday and to just relax for 24 hours. Can you say HOT TUB????? Gonna be nice.

<< welcome >>
