<< A bit of a bitchy rant today. >>
2009-02-12, 7:19 a.m.

What a busy day yesterday!!!

Work went really really fast. I was busy all day long. Got lots of entries into the system and lots of reports out the door.

The most interesting thing was that, while Bossy Man was in the office with a client, I got a call from my district manager. Apparently one of our adjusters is NOT happy with their service and is threatening to take her business elsewhere.

While I say GOOD BYE to her, Marilyn (The district manager) would really like to keep her money.

So, we try to make her happy.

This adjuster has said that she and the previous adjuster on this file have NO notes in their system because they just didn't document their stuff.

Their fault, right?

Apparently not because NOW she is complaining that because THEY have no notes on something, it just must not have happened.

Whatever.

THEN yesterday, what happened was that the adjuster says that I did not send her any medical notes.

WHAT??

I sent her 74 frickin PAGES of medical notes via fax just last Friday.

She insists that she did not receive them and that it's ALL OUR FAULT.

Well, when Marilyn called me about this, I immediately dropped everything I was doing and found the transaction log on my fax machine, got the DATE, the TIME, HOW MANY PAGES and the OK on the log on this fax I sent, printed it out and sent it to Marilyn.

I haven't heard back yet, but I am sure that the adjuster is feeling pretty much like SHIT right now.

I sent the notes, I have proof that I sent the notes, and she has NOTHING.

The stupid bitch.

Again, I would love to just say GOOD BYE to that woman.

Don't be telling ME I didn't do my job.

So, at the SAME FRICKIN TIME I am running around the office, looking for evidence and trying to keep Bossy Man and the client happy in my office, I am in the middle of a texting war with my neighbor.

The problem with texting is that a person cannot tell if someone if kidding or not.

So, of course, I was in super sensitive mode and neighbor was just kidding around.

But, I was getting ticked off.

We straightened everything out after I got off work and dropped by there to vent about my whole frickin day.

THEN, in the MIDDLE of my texting with said neighbor, I get a text from Jim.

A frickin text from my estranged husband.

Just what I needed at that moment.

I haven't heard from him in a couple of weeks and things were really really nice and quiet in my life.

What does he text me?

"I love you."

Now, what the hell am I supposed to do with THAT?

I don't love him anymore.

The only thing I want from him is for him to fair AND to help me pay for his daughter's wedding.

That's it.

Nothing else.

The last two weeks have been really nice and peaceful without his rants and e-mails and phone calls and threatening messages.

Really really nice.

Now he breaks that silence with a message that is supposed to do something for me?

I don't think so.

I didn't answer him back. I have nothing to say to that.

So, again, I went to Dave's after work and downloaded on HIM, which of course is not fair, but he does the same to me, so it's okay.

Then I went home. I watched some TV, got in the shower and ran to Walmart, where I had to go pick up something for Sam that she needed for her surprise birthday party for Charles.

Yeah. That was the other thing that bothered me. Sam called me yesterday and asked me to stop and pick up some stuff for her at Walmart because 1) she didn't want to go out and 2) she had no money (which of course means that PAULA will pay for it and eat the cost)

So, she asked ME because she knows I can't say no.

And another stop at Walmart was the LAST thing I wanted to do last night.

And that just kinda put the frosting on my bad mood cake, if you know what I mean?

So, I ran to Wally World, picked up what she needed. And decided that I needed some caffeine if I was to survive the late night I was sure to have.

I was in McDonald's in Walmart and I see Irene and her mother.

Oh and her mother's skanky new boyfriend. Icky!!!

Long gray hair, dirty old flannel shirt, greasy look all around. Not the nicest looking man. But then again, Irene's mom is not exactly a winner, either.

Anyway, so I see them, and I stop to talk to them. I was running LATE of course. I was to be at Sam's at 7:00 because even though the birthday boy was not coming home for around an hour later, I was NEEDED to help clean and cook.

Yeah. That's what I was invited over to do. Clean and cook.

Can you say Paula is being taken advantage of?

Oh yeah.

God, I'm bitchy!!!

So, I get stuck talking to Irene and her mom. By the way, in case you don't remember, these people are my son's bio family.

Yeah, those.

I luckily was running late since I had a GREAT excuse to get outta there.

But not before I was reminded about the party on Sunday for Irene's mentally challenged son.

What to get for this kid when I have not even seen him more than three times his entire three years of being on this planet?

No idea.

I get in the car, run over to Sam's, where I am greeted quite WARMLY by Alex, my granddaughter. It was so nice!! I haven't seen her in a while and she was just so happy to have me there and I was so happy just to see her and get my hugs and kisses.

Charles later asked me if I was okay with being called "Grandma" and I told him that I LOVED IT!! And I do!!! None of this stupid age crap for me. Being Grandma Paula is the best feeling EVER!!!

So, after Alex let me go, I ended up in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning. What a surprise!!!!

Then I finally had time to play with Alex for a few minutes before her dad came home from work. He was surprised at the party, which was GOOD since it was a surprise party.

None of Sam's family showed up even though Sam kept saying they were coming.

We ate dinner. Had cake and I had to run. Dave was waiting for me at the karaoke bar.

I walked in and guess who was there? Sam's family!!

I asked them why they hadn't gone over to Sam's and that they were expecting them. They all said that they WERE invited but all told Sam they were not going.

Now, what kind of family is that? I believe that if you are invited to your son-in-law's birthday party, you really SHOULD go. There was plenty of time to hit the bar later, as I just demonstrated.

I just don't get people sometimes.

So, I was sitting with a huge group of people, just having some fun and gabbing and Dave showed up. He was totally trashed. He knew he could be cause he was not driving and he had a bit too much at the bowling alley.

Yeah.

Anyway, so there was lots of singing going on and lots of laughter.

We actually left there around 10:30 and headed to Perkins to grab something to eat. I was not hungry because Sam is a really really good cook and I ate A LOT!!!

But Dave ate. And he was so drunk that he was saying kinda goofy things to the waitress. I am glad that they are used to drunks there and she just shrugged everything off. Not that he said anything MEAN, just off color at times, you know?

Then I poured him back into my car and drove him home. I made sure he made it in safely and then went home to my own bed.

Where I got around 4 hours of sleep and now am pretty damn tired.

I think I may be coming down with something, too, a cold perhaps. My throat has been sore for two days and now my nose is running.

And I sneezed this morning.

I don't usually sneeze unless I am getting a cold.

If I sneeze more than twice in one day, it's a definite sign I am getting sick.

No lie.

Two sneezes, okay.

Three, forget it!! I'm sick.

I don't want to get sick. I have two more nights of partying to do. Friday night is Angel's birthday party. And Saturday is our Valentine's Dinner with the whole group, not to mention that Dave's daughter is coming with her boyfriend again into town and I promised I would be around to visit with them. I don't want to be sick right now.

But I sure would not have minded calling in "sick" today. LOL

Okay. I'm done here. I have lots of stuff to do. Lots of files have been coming in while I have been typing.

See ya later!!!
